My daughter has Asperger's (high-functioning Autism). She suffers from anxiety and OCD, along with other less significant symptoms. She was a premie and packed on weight about the same time she was put on meds (at about age 5). She is now 5'6" and weighs about 275 lbs. I've tried everything from locking away foods to walks to a dietician/nutritionist. Nothing works. It seems she doesn't ever 'feel' full after a meal and could eat all day long. Anybody have any suggestions? I need to do something before the doctor pushes bariatic surgery (which I am against, since my aunt died from complications from it-another ripped it loose). The women in my family do not do well on the surgery table (I almost died twice) from non-weight-related surgeries.

Sometimes if I get really interested in something I forget all about food...maybe pursuing some new interests will help you lose weight?
Remember, humans are supposed to eat to live, not live to eat.

My daughter has anxiety and OCD. These make her want to eat all of the time. Even her obsession with the computer does not deter her. I do not believe her brain gets a signal that she's full.
