Hi , I got married in 2008 and got pregnant in later month, but we did not want to have baby so early, so I had an abortion.
later after 1 yr 3 months we tried for baby, and got pregnent right away. I delivered very cute and healthy baby boy, but again destiny changed and we lost our boy when he was 10 month old with heart disease. In again 2 month I was pregnant but this time it was ectopic pregnancy. Then we waited for 9 months again and tried for baby but did not get any success. when Dr. checked for prolactine it was high 66.
I have really suffred a lot. I am praying fot everything to be ok. I need to get pregnent so that I can take over a bit on my baby loss.

Hi ready4baby. My endocrinologist told me to stop taking cabergoline as soon as I found out I was pregnant. I was about two to three weeks pregnant when I found out so I disconinued it immediately. My pregnancy went very well. I would ask him why he wants you to stay on it. Good Luck!

Dostinex and Heart Valve Problems

Dostinex is a popular drug designed to treat the debilitating effects of the neurological condition Parkinson’s disease. The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke believes that over 500,000 Americans will face this disease of the central nervous system every day, and 50,000 new cases of tremors, muscle rigidity, and mood disturbances are diagnosed each year. There are a number of options to treat this disease, but many doctors chose to use Dostinex.
Unfortunately, the results of a recent study published in the New England Journal of Medicine indicate that:
“In conclusion, our study showed that treatment with either pergolide or cabergoline, particularly at daily doses greater than 3 mg and for periods of 6 months or longer, was associated with a substantially increased risk of newly diagnosed cardiac-valve regurgitation. There was no evidence of such an increase with the use of other dopamine agonists.”
This story was in response to two European studies that discovered that this Pfizer-manufactured-drug could cause heart valve damage. Researchers in Italy discovered that almost 25% of Parkinson’s patients that used Dostinex to treat their disease suffered moderate to severe heart-valve damage. Additionally, scientists and doctors in Germany found out that Dostinex was five to seven times more likely cause leaky heart valves opposed to those that took less dangerous drugs.
Other heart related side effects of Dostinex include:Pulmonary fibrosisCardiac valvulopathyLeaky heart valvesDamage to the Aortic and Mitral valvesValvular heart disease
The Mayo Clinic also discovered that Dostinex as well as its generic counterpart cabergoline were likely to cause heart problems; in fact, doctors at the Clinic concluded that "Cabergoline should be discontinued if valvular disease is detected and no other cause identified."
If you or someone you know was injured by the side effects of Dostinex, you need to take action immediately. You may very well be entitled to compensation for your pain and suffering, but if you hesitate the statute of limitations in your state could expire, leaving you with no legal recourse to get the restitution you deserve. Study in Iran:
AbstractBACKGROUND & OBJECTIVES:
The aim of this study was to compare the effects of bromocriptine versus cabergoline on pregnancy in hyperprolactinaemic infertile women.
METHODS:
A total of 183 infertile women with hyperprolactinemia undergoing intrauterine insemination (IUI) were randomly divided into two groups. Group A: 94 with bromocriptine and group B:89 with cabergoline. The efficacy and safety was evaluated on the basis of normalization of prolactin levels, normalization of menstrual cycle, disappearance of galactorrhea, occurrence of pregnancy and adverse effects with each of these medications.
RESULTS:
The presence of galactorrhea and irregular menstruation were significantly lower in patients of group B than group A (P<0.001 and P=0.011, respectively) with a significant lower prevalence of side effects in cabergoline group. Pregnancy was significantly more achieved among the women with the treatment of cabergoline (82%) as compared to bromocriptine (56.4%) (P<0.001).
INTERPRETATION & CONCLUSION:
Our results suggest that cabergoline treatment in infertile women with prolactinemia is more effective. It lowers prolactin with better tolerability and much more effective in the achievement of pregnancy.
