When I first started my period it was really painful, but I thought it was normal to hurt a lot the first time (so I think), so I didn't think much of it, and after the first time it was fine. Well like a year after I started my period, I started to be in a lot of pain the first day I would get my period and I would feel nauseous. Well my period symptoms became worse and worse, my stomach hurts so bad (I swear if I put my hand over where I think my uterus is I can feel it beating), my legs and knees hurt, I get the shakes, I feel hot yet cold (kinda like the chills) and I throw up! I cry because its so bad. Its so bad that I have to stay home from school and can barely walk. And I can never take anything for it because I will just end up throwing it up.
Is this normal? or what can cause all these symptoms? it's only like that on the first day and then I feel fine, like nothing ever happend.
What's going on? it gets worse and worse each time :'(

except for irregularity in periods, I experienced the exact same thing! I've missed school because the pain was so bad, and once, I was so nauseous that I couldn't even keep water down. I recommend going into the emergency room/doctor's office the next time you have one. I've actually had to be sedated because of the pain! Its definately not normal, but you aren't the only one...people have different degrees of pain during their cycles. Ask the doctor to prescribe you something strong. (I did and even though I ran out a long time ago, my periods have never been that bad again.
This may not help if you are irregular, but if you become regular, start taking midol (or whatever) as soon as you know your period is coming down...don't wait for pain. This way, the painkiller is in your system before the pain starts

Was there something wrong? or is it just how your period is? And do you know what causes it to be like that? I asked my mom to take me to the doctor's before but I don't think she took me seriously.
