I've just began this whole "running" thing;)

I run about a 6:30 miles, knocked off a minute and a half since last summer. I'm wanting to run a 5k in October. I can easily run over 2 miles right now, but my pacing myself is the tough part.

Does aqyone have any tips to pace myself in order to have more endurance in the end?

If you can run 1 mile @ 6:30, you're not going to have any problems completing a 5K in a quick time. Just go out and force yourself to go slower for 20 minutes.

Once you get to where you can handle 20 to 30 minutes of steady running, you can work on running faster from there.

Good luck!

I gotta agree that you need to start running more 3,4 and 5 mile runs to help build up a solid base. Your body will need to get used to the time on your feet.
