hello everybody,
My name is Jason and I'm 25 been smoking cigarettes for 7 years, eat nothing but junk food, and proably gained pretty much 30lbs in the past year. I've never been a runner but I need to get back in shape. I used to be at a trim 174 lbs now i'm 213lbs. I like to get started, but don't know exactly what i'm doing. I know its "running" but if there is any advice, about what a good pace is, or anything that could be helpful that would be awesome.

As a new running fiend, I can tell you this.....start out slowly so you don't kill yourself...or you will never want to run again. Start out with some nice long brisk walks and as you get more comfortable....add in some short jogs. After about 6 weeks it won't be such a chore and you will look forward to it. Take it slow...and don't expect to lose 30 pounds in a month. It took you a year to put it on...it should take about the same amount to get it off.
Diet is also key. Ditch the junk food and learn the million ways to cook boneless skinless chicken breast.
