Hi, I am 14 years old and just recently, finally decided that i should "come out of the closet" and tell everyone that i am gay. I need help on how to talk to people, and get the news out there, or should i just keep it inside until later!

Hi!! I'm LinZ. I'm a 20 year old female and a lesbian. I think I can help you!! Coming out is a very hard thing to do. No matter how well you plan things out, you may end up losing friends. Coming out is really no one's decision to make, but your own.
When I came out, I lost friends and their respect. Some of them eventually got over the initial shock, but some of them I don't talk to anymore.
I would come out to a close friend first. This needs to be a friend that you know you could trust with your life. You can talk to this friend and ask him/her, "Well how to you think ________ will feel about this?" "Do you think our other friends will accept me?"
Does you family know? If not, and you don't want them finding out anytime soon, you need to make sure the friends you tell won't go tell their parents who will then call you parents and then they will definitely know.
**This reply was copied and pasted from advice I have previously given someone. If you search my name in the "Author" search box, you will find a few replies that I have given relating to coming out.
Feel free to email me!! I would be happy to talk you through this, if needed. Or you can email me with any questions or to vent...whatever. I know it is hard and I want to help you!!
