I am an Ileostomist of 27yrs standing, due to Ulcerative Colitis. During the surgery a large part of my bowel was removed along with the Ileum. My red blood cell count is now at 3.82 10*12/L. Haemoglobin 107 g/L Packed cell volume 0.34 I have been put on Ferrous Fumarate syrup to counter the situation. As I have no Ileum how will I absorb this.
