Ok to start, im 13 male 5 7 1/2" 120 lbs. injury 3 weeks ago but its all better(achilles) and this is my second year of Cross country 8th grade. It seems most people on these forums are alot older then me but whatever, i love running and im at a running forum. Anyways Monday im running a mile time trial at cc practice. I've been sitting hear just guesstimating what i can get. I ran our homecourse 2 days ago, and my mile split was 7:02 on a 2 mile course,14:19 overall. I was just asking what you guys think i can get for my mile.
EDIT: Forgot to add, we started cc about 4ish weeks ago, so thats how long ive been running for. At the very least 2 miles a day, (for me at least)

Im a junior runner and for an 8th/freshman, a 7 minute mile is about a middle of the pack runner. Generally your top runners will be running around an 11 minute 2-mile by the end of the year at your age. 14 minutes isn't bad though and if you are just starting you might be able to drop a minute or two by the end of the year.

Hey guys thanks for the responce but im so happy at the moment! I had a meet today at our home course (3k) and i got 28th out of 85 guys! My mile split was 6:30 (my personal best by 30 seconds!) and my total time was 12:45 ( way way better then my best). Im so proud of myself, but i still felt like i could've gone faster. I think i can get faster then 6:30 now for just a regular mile, my coach said i can do a time trial tomorow at practice. Again thanks for the responces!
