How to treat a popped boil that hasn't completely drained?

just wanted to help. i read your comments and hope it isnt too late for my advise. Talk to your doctor about kaflex< dont know if im spelling it right> cephelexin is another name for it. Gauranteed to git rid of boils fast!! the only thing is dont stop medication once started...keep using until finished or they will come back and will be harder to get rid of. i had a severe case a couple years back and it helped me big time.

Okay, so I read your post and I've been struggling with them myself. the first time I went to the doctor she gave me medication. When I was almost finished and the boils/absesses had disappeared, I stopped taking them. About a month later, after I took a cruise and was bathing in salt water, which kept them away, they came back. I stopped taking baths incase that's what was causing my infections. Upon my research I found that this can be the case since it starts by the hair folicle getting infected. I know I'm a little late, but I was browsing and your information caught my eye.

i have a pop boil and it is still hard around the soft middle part is that normal? i've been trying to squeeze around it but nothing is coming out. i need you help please my mom says to just to put a warm cloth on it and it speeds the healing process is that true?

Hot Compresses 4 times a day for 15 minutes and ensure that you keep the area clean and disinfected. The worst thing is getting it reinfected and going through it all over again. When you have a boil if it is being stubborn and not popping after a week see a doctor. It is not worth messing around with this large swollen mass that is ruling your life. Lancing the boil sucks ..... trust me it is sooo painfull but they sent me home with antibodics and pain pills. I just had my first boil... the boil from hell. The top drained and then it stopped draining and was soooo painfull and the infection was so deep that I had to go to the doctor and get it taken care of. These are no joke - and depending where they are on your body these things can become major problems. 

Tg I have never had one on my face,they can leave deep ugly scars if not treated properly. I sadly get them in the crease of my groin from front to back ugh!!! The first one I got went on for wks,ends up being the size or my thumb I drained almost 3/4 of a cup of bloody puss from it. Left a good size pock mark in my left groin, damn it was very deep and took about 3mo to heal. I didn't have the knowledge I do now 6 yes 6 yrs later. It seems to be a pattern about wk b4 my period I get a boil somewhere in my groin crease left right it doesn't matter every month same time most are small slightly painful and go "away" on their own. But they don't really go away they just get smaller and don't hurt anymore but the staph infection I still there, your body has done all it can at that point. I have found that is why I get them repetitively in the same spots. You must expell aka bring to head and fully drain, fully drain the spot to get,the infection out fully. I use a drawing salve like Prids and a hot yes hot compress and also lemon juice compress there. Bring it to head let it open on it own unless you have a very high tolerance for pain, it will be gross sometimes smelly and very painfull. You must,at that point keep it clean and make sure it fully drains by still using a drawing salve or antibiotic ointment and still again a hot compress to draw blood to the area to heal and draw out the infection. Like I said it has been 6yrs so far but with my current knowledge I think and hope this will be my almost last occurrence.. It is extremely hard to cure a staph infection but it can be done with proper hygiene and care, I have my,fingers crossed that that's s will be my second to last one ever. I say second to last one because I have two RN on in the front right upper groin crease and one about an inch from my,anus on my left very inner but check. Have expelled but not fully drained the one in my front groin and am now trying to expell the one near my but hole. So very painful to walk, sit or sit on the toilet. You will need some kind of drawing salve, I use smileys prid,it stinks its tacky and brown and hard to keep on your skin depending on the area. A very clean cloth or cotton ball for a hot water or cold lemon juice compress, be careful not to burn yourself with the hot water or lemon juice. Lemon juice is an acid and will literally burn through your skin,given enough time. Once expelled continue with drawing salve and your choice of a topical expectorant aka hot compress or lemon juice. I also like to use isopropyl alcohol as the damp for my hot compress. I dampen a rag or cotton ball and nuke it for a minute so it is very,hot and the heat plus alcohol kills germs. Hope this helps, it helps me every month, btw might want buy a fade cream for any any possible dark spots or possible scarring. Best of luck, if not treated properly this could be a chronic condition. yes it is it helps the tissues that form the boil (rizon) go down , basically meaning if you put a hot cmpress it can heal it fast. i have boils my self and my mother always help me

please I need help I had a boil on my foot I popped it but the "eye" is still there I squeeze it every time but it won't get out

i have what i thought was a boil but it popped on its own and now theres just blood ajd puss at the surface and im too scared to pick at it. ive had gotten these for sooooo long im 18 now and this is the worst one ive got. i have 2 also but the other hasnt popped yet??? please help i dont know what to do. it also really hurts and the fabrics in my pants keep sticking to it????

Ive had several boils that grew larger than a marble if left u treated. The moment you feel a bump especially in the private areas take a warm to hot bath with epsom salt dissolved in it. Sit in it for about 15 min. Do this 2-3 times daily even it seems to be getting bigger it will start to bring the boil to a head.

After each bath clean the boil with hydrogen peroxide and do not wear underwear if its there just some loose pants will do. You will need 2 days rest at a minimum so that you dont rub it nor sweat around there.

During the day get a bowl with warm to hot water and dissolve epsom salt again and use a clean cloth and place it on the boil until it gets cold and redue this about 5 times.

Take tylenol if you have some pain.

Everytime you use the washroom make sure to clean it with hydrogen peroxide.

Mine was pretty large and during the night it drained on its own. After 3 days.

Once it drains or is draining take one more bath with epsom salt right away so that it can fully drain. Once your out of the bath clean the puss or blood out by dabbing a clean cloth on it. Once u think its mostly gone clean it with SALINE (salt water) and pack a wet gauze of providone iodine (brown liquid) on the boil and pack a few dry and clean gauze pads over it and you can now hold it in place with underwear or some tight pants not too tight of course.

Everytime you use the washroom repeat these steps for cleaning starting from cleaning the area with SALINE ETC.

Ps. If the boil is in the groin area and it hurts to close your legs once you force them closed it wont hurt as much lay on your side and close the legs it also helps put pressure on the boil which will bring it to a head quicker. You can apply vaseline on it after you've cleaned it with hydrogen peroxide.

My boil is under my butt and my husband pops it and it comes right back when the watery type blood comes out does that mean it's done or needs to be squeezed more.?

Thank you, I also gets boils very often but recently I started using Prid for my bois and Epsom salt and hot tub baths or hot towels in a bowl of water it really does help, I would abvise alowing the boil to drain on its own because if you continue to press it yourself and do not get the core out they're a possiblitly that the boil will get larger in size and become even more painful. The hot compress with antibiotics and Prid drawing salve really does help, it will open up and drain on its own. In my experience and I get boils very often I am prone to getting them, my doctor puts me on an antibiotic soon as I get one and I do the home remedies because lancing them hurts like hell, and takes a long time to heal.
