I had emergency surgery for a perforated bowel from a colonoscopy in Aug 2008. Lucky to have made it. Everything was fine until January 2009 when all of the sudden my stomach started bulging out after I ate anything. It would become hard as if I swollowed a softball. I am by no means overweight but now when I go out I look like a freak. Surgeon says its just something that happens and you can't do anything about it. Help, how do I get rid of this thing

So let me see if I have this right, you have a HUGE bulge in your stomach and it is "just something that happens"? I think the words 2nd OPINION are very important hear. I am pretty sure it is not serious, but because of your perforated bowel and colonoscopy what the heck is this guy/gal thinking!? Got his money and now lets move on?!!! It might be gas build up, it could be an obstruction in your stomach! Constipation, etc. etc. Could also be a an Hyetial Hernia! It usually can happen if there has been an inflamation or surger in the abdominal cavity, it is kind of like a bump inside your intestine causing obstruction. So the next time your stomach is extended I would suggest either going to emergency or getting to see someone right away. A lot of times - if it is a Hyetial Hernia - you need to be in signs of distress for it to show up in an ultrasound or xray. And it is TOTALLY treatable. Good luck hon, and please let me know what happens.

I have the same problem and am hearing the same. Mine was for exploratory surgery that found nothing, no less, so it is really annoying with a scare from my sternum to below my belly button... Embarrassing even around the house and family let alone public, and nothing fits right anymore.
