So I'm 16 I appear to have recently developed varicocele and I don't know what to do... I know I have got it from reading and looking at pictures on the internet... I've had sexual encounters but now I'm scared girls will be scared off or something? It's always me who gets something like this I feel like I have no one to talk to... what's caused this? I have recently been excercising more and I would like some answers... I don't wish to go to the doctoR Because it doesn't seem to be disrupting me in any way... It just destroys my self confidence. Will it go away? I've only noticed it today.

Hi Guest,
Lots of guys get varioceles and often they do NOT require any treatment. If you have any problems it may require treatment.
Describe what you're feeling/seeing? A variocele is often described as a "bag of worms."

As I said it's not causing me any harm I don't feel pain or anything and yeah it feels like a bag of worms my left is hanging lower than my right (but that's normal right?) I do teste checks quite often and I've only just noticed this.... It's making me feel self conscious rather than causing me pain

It is normal for them to hang at different heights, yes.
It may resolve itself. Give it time.

If it destroys your self-confidence, it may be enough to seek out medical help or a professional opinion. However, I'd be wary of suggesting a varicocelectomy since you're not experiencing any kind of discomfort or pain... 'cause, you know, sometimes the procedure may make things worse, as there are no guarantees with surgery. There is the least invasive method where they embolise them through a catheter-type of X-ray instrument inserted into your neck or groin and a substance is passed through it, which causes the varicoceles to reduce or shrivel. It's done using a sedative, so you don't freak out. The results vary, as the varicocele(s) might come back.

Thank you for getting back to me and i feel very uncomfortable going to a doctor but if I need to I will... I feel like it has only appeared recently which is why I'm so cautious... The second method definitely seems best however I'm hoping the problem will die out like the guy above said... Or am I wishing to highly there?

Also another question, if I leave it untreated will that mean I will be at risk of infertility when I'm older?

There is a risk, yes. But, they DO NOT always need treatment, it can resolve itself. You'd need to see a urologist, not your doctor, to determine the best course of action.
