Dear Sir/Maddam

When having sex, i held off from orgasming and think i may have exploded a testicle or something?? For over a month now my left testicle is no longer rising properly when aroused. my right one moves normally where as the left one doesn't!! It feels like there is something stopping the left testicle from rising to the top?? My local doctor told me it may be a Vertical Ceal, but he refered me to a urologist for definite answer and treatment.. They are booked out till April 2008.... What is Vertical Ceal?? what do i do to make it better, or treat it??

Hello, I am a 23 yr old male. I have a varicocele in my left testicle.. I was seen by a urologist and he told me it is very common in men and that really there is nothing you can do about it unless it is causing you severe pain and in most cases won't for along time if ever. If it does cause you lots of pain you can get surgery where they remove it. Its not a vertical ceal.. it sounds like that when you pronounce varicocele... cause its pronounced vair-ric-co-seal... If you stand up and feel above your left testicle does it feel like there is a wormy thing in there? like a big vein or something? that's what a varicocele is...

Newbell has given you the correct info.
It's a varicocele that the doctor has described.
It is a fat or distended vein, and about 50% of all adult men have one to some degree, usually on the left side due to the arrangement of the veins.
Only a few get so large they are painful or effect fertility.

If yours is NOT hurting you, don't worry about it. You can also try some tighter undershorts for more support, or try a supporter. This can eliminate some pain SOME men feel due to lack of support....

The classic description of a varicocele is a "bag of worms" that 'give' when you try to feel them.

Unless you have specific concerns for fertility or pain or unusually large appearance issues, I would tend to ignore it. Many men discover theirs about at your age.

Surgery can be done if a doctor determines it is appropriate, but it can be a bit of an expense...especially if there is no symptom!

I am a 15 year old, I noticed it a few years ago. Personally I am not worried unless symptoms become worse.
