Please help. My fiance is in massive pain. He has a lot of chest pain and he says that it feels like an elephant is sitting on it. He loses his breath after just walking to the TV from the couch. He becomes really dizzy and he also has really deep hurting coughs. He gets really bad stomach pains at night and he says that it feels like his stomach is pulsating. I took him to the hospital and they said he had costochondritis. They gave him naproxen but it isn't doing anything. I don't know what is wrong with him or how to fix it. Please help!

At first I thought this was classic Pleurisy! Or a fractured rib! I haven't heard of Costochondritis, but once I check on the symptoms it definitely fit with the diagnosis, since Naproxin - which is used for arthritis - doesn't work for him, then I would suggest Motrin or Advil - my son has SEVERE arthritis and his only relief actually comes from Advil - we get the extra strength gel caps - also heat and ice, heat and ice etc. can REALLY help the swelling and discomfort! For some arthritis conditions, they say to keep moving but for this it says to just relax and to NOT exert yourself and have do NOT participate in bodily contact sports! I know this sounds sort of like a simple diagnosis - compared to the pain he is going through - the good thing is his heart would have been checked out, and this WILL go away! And the more he follows the rules, and relaxes the quicker his recovery will be! sorry I couldn't be of more help!
