I have been back on adderall for over 6 years now as an adult in my early 40's and I have been just dealing with the pain of the sores for the past 2 years after my insurance switched me to the generic brand, and none of my doctors have a clue what I'm trying to explain.
I do not take my meds on the weekend and the pain will clear up with the help off the peroxide swish but when I start back on my meds during the week for work, my tongue either feels like it's slightly swollen and/or the small sores on the tip, under and on the sides of my tongue return.
I'm not a doctor, but it is definitely related to the adderall in some form. I am leaning towards the increased bacteria theory as I don't not believe it is completely from biting, pushing or chewing on my tongue. I'm sure I occasionally do, the sores are almost in the exact same area every time and the ones under my tongue are not able to even reach my teeth.
- That's my experience for what it's worth.
Now that I see that I'm not the only one and that I'm not crazy,
Checking to see if anyone has filed an adverse reaction report to the FDA or contacting the manufacturer to see what they know is a good idea.

I hope this amazing system of yours, you can now control from inside out, will stimulate you so much and give you so much more control over yourself, you will never ever ever ever give a f""" about playing with a tongue, jaw or need a cigarette to occupy your hand or mind for the rest of your life.
At least it worked for me .I hope it will for you Alex Paradis

I know this thread is very old, but I am quite certain what it is.
Stimulants cause dry mouth. Usually, at least for me, when I have a dry mouth then I will create a suction. I have INCREDIBLY PAINFUL sores on my tongue, in the same spots, every week. The only way to fight it, that I have found, is to keep hard candies or cough drops at a near constant use.
Many say this is from being on too high of a dose. I believe this is being confused. This is from taking too much at once.
I have been fighting to get on IR because it works much better for me when I can control the amount on a day by day basis, but just cap myself at my dosage prescribed. This has reduced dry mouth, increased my response and generally made life better for me.
My doctor doesn't agree and thinks I'm not capable of keeping up with multiple doses a day. f*****g reprobate.

Im currently taking 20mg/day and i get a sore right on the tip of my tongue every so often. After a few times, and lots of irritation, I spent hours looking it up. If ive concluded accurately, mines usually Glossitis. Taking adderall brings the possibility of changing a lot to your body. Your appetite, metabolism, heart rate, breathing..., so the possibility that it's causing these sores is fairly high, but many things cause sores on the tongue. As it so happens, Adderall can bring an onset of a few of them.
1.As for the tiny little white bumps, they are basically your taste buds inflamed and usually caused by irritation.(Whether from "adderall biting" or something else) Can hurt a lot, but go away soon enough. 2.Could be Glossitis which can look different depending on a few things, though usually looks smooth, whitish, and a bit swolen. The smooth appearance is a result of papillae disappearing, which also explains the lack of taste that comes with it. It can be caused by: Dry mouth, Low Iron (both a possible side effects of adderall) and other more serious cause. 3. The Canker Sore, I believe everyone knows what this would look like. All the causes for Canker sores aren't perfectlyrics known, but they can be caused by bad nutrition causing Zinc, B12, folic acid, and Iron deficiency. (Adderal kills appetite which can cause bad nutrition) Other than a few different variations, these are the most common don't require treatment, normally. If it's not one of those, the odds are its caused by an underlining issue.
