Hi, I just had a dinner with my boyfriend, and he was telling me some jokes. I was laughing like crazy, and somehow I managed to swallow a chicken bone. What can go wrong?

Hi, I don’t think that it is an emergency if it’s not stuck in your throat. However, you should be ready to go to the hospital if you feel pain in you abdomen or something similar. I don’t give chicken bones even to my dog, because I heard that they can be dangerous if they go in the wrong direction. Chicken bones can be very sharp if they are broken alongside. I don’t think that your stomach will be able to digest a chicken bone, so it will probably go out with a bowel movement. If the bone that you swallowed is very small, you probably have nothing to worry about. However, if it’s not so small, I guess you should go to doctor and explain him/er what happened. I hope that it won’t cause you any problems.

The same thing almost happpened to me. I was eating, and I accidentally swallowed a chicken bone, and it hurled when I was swallowing it, but i swallowed it after I tried something else. I’m really worried cause I remember reading a National Geographic How To Speak Dog book. I spit the chicken I was eating, and stuff. I was eating too fast :(

I swallowed a broken sharp chicken bone yesterday. Is there any danger that I should be aware of and for how long?
