Highly unlikely, but it is possible to bleed through the 1st trimester and into the second; it will however be different than a regular menstal cycle. My first pregnancy I initially had 2 babies in my uterus, I miscarried a twin and carried the 2nd baby to term; I bled daily from week 9 to week 15, which had the doctors perplexed. My second pregnancy the bleeding resulted in a complete miscarriage at week 8 and a DNC. My 3rd pregnancy had bleeding from week 3 to week 14. So yes, anything is possible considering we had unprotected sex during unfertile times and was pregnant right away each time we did.
So in short, don't bother analyzing the colour of your period etc, as you may have been pregnant and your period would have shed whatever pregnancy was there. That can, and does happen to many people. It doesn't mean that you can't carry a baby to term or even get pregnant, just life's way of taking care of an unhealthy pregnancy. The goal for everyone is to have a healthy baby so no reason to get upset.
If you are wanting to have a baby, your fertile times are between day 8 and day 19 of your menstral cycle (day 1 being the 1st day of your period). If you don't want to get pregnant and can't use birth control (for some of us the hormones in the birth control creates terrible mood swings and depression), limit intercourse to Days 1-7 (yep even during your bleeding is fine, but a little messy) and day 21 up to your period start.
I'm not a doctor, just experience based advice.

There is a 2 week wait (2WW) between having sex and getting your period. Pregnancy tests only work AFTER implantation (Which is about 5-7 days BEFORE your next period.
If you don't know and don't track your periods, you need to start for many reasons. 1. being that you need to know when it's possible to get pregnant 2. it's your body, only you can track what is happening with it. Sex is something that is meant for responsible people do, if you're not knowledgable about your own body you really shouldn't been having sex. It's not something you can take back and if you're not looking to get pregnant, you DEFINITELY need to know more about yourself. There's nothing shameful about sex; we're women and we're in control of our own bodies. Only you can decide what and when you're willing to have sex - have a positive self image and be open and honeset about what you like and what you don't - that's the only way a healthy sexual relationship will work - Good luck
