I haven't been to a doc yet but Im almost positive I have herpes. I have all the symptoms. I feel horrible cause I gave it to my boyfriend. I don't know if I should feel like it's the end of my life or what. Is it gonna be this annoying thing I have to deal with everyday? I just feel horrible! How do I feel better about it?

Having this disease is definitely not the end of your life. I can understand being devastated, but you can live with it. It's okay. There are thousands of Americans that live with it every day and have found ways to deal with it. You can too.

Talk to your doctor. You don't want to have this disease, or think you have it, and not talk to a doctor. He/she can provide information on how to deal with this with medication, lifestyle, etc.

Also, even though you have all the symptoms, maybe you don't have herpes. It's possible. That's why you want to see your doctor.

As for dealing with it emotionally, if you're devastated, find ways to cope. There are probably support groups online, books you can buy, stress techniques you can do, etc. Find what works for you.

No, it's NOT the end of your life. The first thing you need to do is see a doctor, it could be something worse then herpes, or maybe nothing at all. Either way, it's best to get checked by a doctor. And do not blame yourself, how do you know if you gave it to your boyfriend? Maybe he gave it to you?

I know lots of people with it. Take some meds and it will be fine. STDs become acceptable after you get use to it. Just 1st finding out you have one is the crappy time. After a while you wont even remember its there. Dont worry in todays times its almost normal. Be happy you know what it is. I have had an itch for 6 years and have no stds. Try not bein able to get a pill to keep it away : ( . Anywho dont worry you will feel much as time goes by. But 1st thing 1st go get checked. The std symptoms are almost the same as hundreds of other non std symptoms.
