Hi A,
It is absolutely possible to come off tramadol. You really just have to believe me when I say it won't take long before you start feeling better off it then you feel right now.
In total I have done it three times, this time being the longest I have been off it in 2 years and I feel amazing.
Since your on about 300mg a day I would suggest the first day, take nothing. There is enough in your system and you won't start withdrawls yet. The following day, wait as long as you can and take 1 tablet. Do this for a week and then stop. I never felt tapering to help much at all to be honest and only extended the inevitable but for your baby this would be the best way to go. After a week completely cease. When I stopped I didn't suffer from nausea but if you do you can ask your gp for morning sickness medication which will help you. Drink plenty of water and rest as much as you can. I would suggest taking the week off and just taking it easy for those few days. After the 4th day you will feel a lot better and every day that passes will get easier and easier. I also found vitamin c to be helpful as well as iron tablets for the restless legs. Maybe take them at night in case they make you a little sick. If the pain gets too much, I found Panadene forte to be really helpful for the first 10 days. In calmed me down tremendously and took away all the aches and helped me sleep. It's a lot safer for the baby then the tramadol.
I really hope and pray that you can do this for both you and your baby. its absolutely worth it I promise you. Please if I can answer anything else please let me know.

I was taking anywhere between 100-350 per day for a while and then went down to 50 for a week.
It's Panadeine forte which is codeine and paracetamol. One tablet twice a day helped me so much.
