Hi I have been addicted to pain killers for 5 years and i now have heart trouble, the trouble normally shows itself as a really rapid beat, apparentlyit still forms a perfect wave but it jumps from a resting heart rate of 68 to 180 in a split second,it lasts for a few seconds usually 10 to 15
i have had tests and examinations for this but,i have never admitted to being addicted to pain killers, i found it recently possible to stop smoking so im feeling a little better, but im worried that the pain killers are going to kill me before i beat that habit, is it possible that the pain killers are doing me harm
the pills i take are Solpadol
i started using these for a problem with my neck and never really got off them.
Please give me some advice

probably has more to do with smoking than opiates. Speaking as a current opiate addict and recent ex-smoker. I had exactly the same and found out that it was the tobacco.

I HAVE BEEN TAKING SOLPADOL FOR MANY YEARS FOR BACKPAIN. I HAVE NEVER SMOKED. BUT I HAVE RECENTLY DEVELOPED HEART PROBLEMS CALLED ATRIAL FIBULATION... I CAN BE FEELING PERFECTLY OK, THEN MY HEART RATE CAN SWITCH TO A VERY FAST RATE OF 180 BEATS PER MIN. IT IS VERY SCARY AND LEADS TO ME BEING ADMITTED TO HOSPITAL. COULD SOLPODOL BE THE CAUSE? IVE RECENTLY HEARD THAT PAINKILLERS CAN CAUSE STROKES AND HEART PROBLEMS, AND SOLPODOL ARE A VERY STRONG PAINKILLER. I AM A 51YR OLD FEMALE.
