I'm freaking out, I had unprotected sex a couple of days ago. I was on my period, and I rationalized that you can't get pregnant when you are on your period because you are not ovulating. We also used the pull-out method. After reading up the next day that this might not have been enough, I took the day after pill just in case. It just sucks that I'm going to have to wait a month to be sure that I'm not pregnant (my next period). Am I just being paranoid? I want to put my mind at ease.

You're not being paranoid, you're taking precautions now.
The withdrawal method is not birth control.
You can get pregnant on your period. You may not be ovulating, but you soon will be. Sperm can live up to 5 days in your vagina/uterus. If you ovulate during that time you could get pregnant.
Taken within 72 hours Plan B is very effective.
Good luck.

Thanks! I'm now very glad I was on the safe side and took Plan B. I'm not having sex again till I'm married, not worth it..

I do have another question. What should I expect my period to do now that I have taken plan B? I'm just now finishing up with my current period, will it just come again in a month?

it can effect your cycle.

Ok cool. So I'm thinking that I really should not stress myself out about this because because 1) I had sex on my period and my period is always regular, and I have studied my ovulation schedule in the past and it comes around the 14th day. 2) he did pull out, which I know is also risky but it does have to help a little. 3) I took Plan B within the 72 hour window, so that should clear any small chance of pregnancy. Am I right? That would be crazy fertile to get pregnant after that? I really thought I was covering myself with the pull out and period thing. I had studied natural family planning before and this made sense to me at the time. I just don't want to have to constantly worry the next month, because when I really think about it there has to be a very small chance..

I wouldn't stress about it.
The pull out method really is risky, even under the best of conditions. I do think you covered yourself this time.
Even with birth control there is alway a chance of pregnancy.
Good luck!
