Inflamed Sore Mouth after taking Adderall

I have been experiencing horrible, horrible burning mouth symptoms in the last two days. They came a day after taking the blue, generic aderralls with the number 111 on them. I would really like to take my last addy tomorrow but I'm not sure the possibility of more excruciating pain is worth it. And when I say excruciating I am hardly exagerating. Just to point out a few things...

 

1) I think I was pretty dehydrated throughout that day, something that everyone has been saying may play a role.

2) When I experienced the mouth pain at first, it had been over 24 hours since my last meal.

3) Now, almost two days after the pain started, there are two blister like things on each side of the roof of my mouth. They don't hurt nearly as bad as they did yesterday but they still hurt pretty bad. 

 

I hope we finally get some decent answers in here...I'm not prescribed to aderrall so I can't just go and ask a doctor. 

I have experienced the mouth/ gum soreness, oral sores, tongue swelling etc. I don't think it is the actual adderall causing this. I think it is an allergic reaction to the inactive ingredients. i experienced the symptoms when taking the blue oblong pill (I think it's made by Barr ), I don't have this problem when I take the blue round pill (both 10 mg). look at the inactive ingredience, I suspect in my case it is the saccharine sodium because I have never been able to use this product as a sweetener either. 

The rash feeling on the roof of your mouth (assumable more towards the back) is from lack of hydration and lack of saliva production, those muscles there need to be wet and be used often. when you binge on adderall you don't drink enough water or eat anything. (At those kind of doses) when i used to binge it would happen to me every morning after I finally slept and would try to drink something. (I don't mess around with stimulants anymore) I know your post is old but there still isn't a whole lot of info about it on the internet so I hope this will help someone. The key is to drink obscene amounts of water (even though at those doses your stomach is so shriveled it doesn't want anything. do it anyway because even drinking the water won't help produce saliva and those muscles need to stay wet!)

First, to the people who are posting knee-jerk rude statements, I'm going to ignore them because we are adders (or are associated with mouth pain) and adders tend to experience impetuous statements as part of our life. Second, I like others, have come here looking for those like me that are struggling with this problem. And, like others will state similar statements. That's because "duh" I am having similar problems.

I only started getting sore tongue, numb corners of my mouth, sore back of my throat and clinching. I've been on Dexedrine. I'm 52 and going through menopause. Menopause has totally ruined my ability to do my job and I have too long before I can retire (Quit my employment). I was in jeopardy of loosing my job until I got on this medication. Now, two years late, I am doing well. I am willing to trying adding B-6 to my diet. I don't have dry mouth. I don't have acid reflux, I don't have thrush, or any other thing else. I take 15 mg around 6am, 5mgs at lunch, and 15mg at 4pm. I am however, going to cut back on my 4pm dose and 6am dose to 5mg each. I am too young to retire and CAN work well on the meds.  What do you do with the mouth pain associated with adderall?

When I take my last dose at 4pm on Friday afternoon, the pain is gone by Saturday night. And it reoccures again on the following Tuesday of the next week once I resume my routine 

I have the same problem! My whole mouth becomes sore w/in hours of taking Adderall, Ritalin or Vyvanse. I THINK it's an immune system reaction because this never use to happen to me & I get mouth sores durning this time. I bet everyone that experiences this also has the herpes I (mouth sore) virus.

The same exact thing happens to me after adderall. Thats how i could tell if my extasy tabs were laced with speed. I'd have a long nite with adds or ex,and the next day whenever i took my 1st bite of food the roof of my mouth would get a painful bump. But i figured out that if i stopped eating for a min and drank a lot of liquid the bump would go away within minutes n the bump wouldnt return when i put the next bite of food in my mouth. Try it it always worked for me

YES THIS WAS VERY HELPFUL!! I take Vyvanse only 30mg & only this month started adderall only 5 mg! & I noticed sensitivity at 40 mg Vyvanse!! I still hv it at 30 but manageable .. & yes I hv had horrible issues bitting my inner cheeks & ESP tongue -- & if I chew him & talk it WORSE .. Literally bite myself every day!! Thanku everyone for confirming my suspicions!!

Sounds like blue long pill might be addrreral may be generic brand of D-amphemine by Barr

If you can keep your hands out of your mouth while on adderall, canker sores will practically disappear. Also, if you have to wear a mouth guard from grinding your teeth, brush it vigorously; germs live on those as well.

Okay!! im so glad i found this, i take 60mg of adderall like every day and it makes it so whenever i eat the roof of my mouth start to hurt and swell up??? like i want to eat but i dont want to have my throat swell up and stop my breathing, is this normal? should i eat anyway?

I am glad to know someone other than me has this problem.

I have cancer sores under my tounge and mouth, sore throat, inflamed taste buds, and burning roof of mouth which is consistent on daily basis.  I just started taking dextoamphetamine 3 weeks ago and already thinking of going off this medication since the side effects are too painful, not to mention the anxiety and difficulty eating anything... And I cook for a living!!! Does anyone have a remedy that works to rid of these symptoms!!!??

I have felt the exact same feeling. I think it is from dehydration. I also found my urine burns a little sometimes if I don't drink enough water and appears darker. But I definitely felt what you explained on 70 mg adderall xr. I felt it mostly in the roof of my mouth and tongue and lips as well.

I jumped on line to try and find out how common this side effect was, or if it was a side effect. Nice to know others are dealing with this too. Mine is the sides of my tounge, I am thinking i am not drinking enough water. It sometimes looks like I have a small hole in the side of my tongue.

My doctor also looked at me like I was nuts when I mentioned the horrific mouth pain since starting adderal.  I use 30mg of the XR but cannot take it every day due to the severity of the tongue/mouth/throat pain...someone metioned vitamins so I will try that.  I don't want to give up the medication bc it really does help.  But these sores are making me miserable :
