I've been on aderol since 09 and never had a problem with cancer sores until 2020. I have had cancer sores quite often. Had them scraped for sti testing several times over it because doc didn't have any other explanation for me getting them. I have been paying attention for the last 8 months and I noticed almost every single month its distributed by a different manufacturer. The ones that begin desolving in mouth are the ones that cause canker sores and stomach ulcers for me. If the have a slightly harder consistency its no bother. I think they are trying to make things cheaply now and the new ingredients are causing symptoms. I had same 20 mg tablets for 10 years with no problems what's so ever. I lived in 3 different states and another country with no problems or changes in medications. I moved to IL right before covid and they consistently change manufactures. I wonder if it's a covid thing or an illinois thing. Idk, but I eat with every dosage, I drink 2, 64oz canteens of water and use dry mouth candies. I have quit taking them all together on multiple occasions to heal. The problem is I'm useless with out them. I wish there was a way to get specific med for manufacture instead of off brands. I'm with the VA my doc has no pull, but private doctors might. For others who may have better options.

I studied psychopharmacology and have my bachelor’s in psychology and do research and read medical and psych studies for fun. I am prescribed both—daily Vyvanse and an Adderall booster and Valium as needed. I rarely use the Valium, as it’s for anxiety and panic attacks/to assist sleep, but when I have bad side effects it helps.
You should also take vitamin B6 and B12 and make sure you’re eating fresh fruit. Matcha tea will also soothe any mouth pain and helps heal the mouth. You can swish it inside the mouth—it really helps for even dental issues: I was waiting for a root canal and it was so bad I went to the ER due to pain but drinking matcha made it bearable along with prescription ibuprofen.
Drink water, avoid acids and sugars, use mouthwash as well: Pain is caused by bacteria affecting the sore parts. The idea is heal it and keep the area clean. Brush your teeth, sleep, try to remain calm. Adderall mouth stuff goes away after sleep usually. I am wondering if the generic brand has some contaminant. The brand name doesn’t cause mouth issues to the degree that generic does. You could also try Vyvanse instead.

I take a biotin pill and rinse with mouthwash that is alchohol free because ive heard from others if yiu can get a reoccuring yeast infection, the alchohol would exacerbate it. Same with sugar and bread.

Adderall and other stimulant medications, like MDMA (3,4-Methylenedioxymethamphetamine, commonly known as "ecstasy" or "molly"), can have side effects that impact the mouth and jaw. Here are a few potential explanations for the symptoms you're describing:
-
Bruxism and Jaw Clenching: Both Adderall and MDMA can cause bruxism, which is grinding, gnashing, or clenching your teeth. This can result in jaw pain, headaches, and damage to teeth. It's also common for individuals to clench their jaws while on these stimulants, leading to muscle soreness.
-
Dry Mouth (Xerostomia): Stimulant medications can reduce saliva production, leading to a dry mouth. Saliva plays an essential role in maintaining oral health, so a reduction in saliva can increase the risk of cavities, gum disease, and other oral health issues.
-
Increased Acid Production: Some people might experience an increase in stomach acid when using these drugs, which could lead to acid reflux. If the acid reaches the mouth, it could cause irritation of the oral tissues.
-
Oral Hygiene and Behavior Changes: Being on stimulant medications can lead some people to neglect oral hygiene, consume sugary drinks or snacks, or engage in repetitive behaviors that could harm the mouth.
-
Other Factors: Every individual reacts differently to medications, so there may be other less common reasons for the symptoms you're experiencing.
If you're experiencing persistent or severe symptoms, you should:
-
See a Dentist: Regular dental check-ups can help address any oral health issues resulting from medication side effects.
-
Practice Good Oral Hygiene: Brushing and flossing regularly and using mouthwash can help mitigate some of the oral side effects of medications.
-
Stay Hydrated: Drinking water throughout the day can help with dry mouth symptoms.
