I have for 2 days ear ringing with dull upper toothe pain. However about 4-5 times a day pressure builds in the gums of my mouth and ear but the pain kind of moves around the upper and lower teeth on the right side of my mouth. the ear ringing intensifies with some minor sharp pain and the episode last about 10-15 min then it all goes away and i forget about it until it pops up again. Do I have an ear infection and is this the side affect?

Yes, it sounds like an ear infection. I'd get to urgent care ASAP for treatment.

i'm not quiet sure if it's an ear infection although it's obvious that there's a problem. is it the ear that causes your teeth to ache or is it the other way around? what exactly happened in the first place?

I have tenitus in my left ear. When I don't take an NSAID, it gets worse. Then randomly, I get a very severe tooth ache which radiates through the jaw and up the side of my head (TMJ symptom). I've been to the dentist three times. Each time they X-ray the affected tooth. Nothing wrong with it. I've been to an ENT for the tenitus which switches from that high pitched tone to a sound like a diesel engine revving in the left ear with the right ear distorting sound like the robotic distortion. The tooth ache switches to the left side occassionally. Today it is back on the right side. It lasts for about 7 days. It even hurts my cheek to pass by the tooth. I am taking Celebrex (an NSAID) and that significantly helps the tenitus or sound distortion, but has no affect on the random upper tooth pain I am experiencing. My current doctor just ordered a CT on my head - came back normal. So once again, random pain and no one knows anything. I do have days when there is no tooth pain. I believe I have IBS, my doctor concurs and gave me a pill for under my tongue when I have an IBS attack. I've used it once and it made me a bit dizzy. Occasionally I'll have lower back pain, but I've been free from that for a good 2 months now. So happy about that. The Celebrex seems to have that under control. Now I have random tender spots on my back over the ribs, sensitive to the touch. I don't know what that's about. I just wish the tooth/jaw pain would leave. Ibuprophen eases that pain. Does anyone know what is going on?
