Hello. My father was diagnosed intermittent claudication. He cannot walk without a break for more than 15 minutes. I wonder whether any diet is necessary when this condition is diagnosed. What are your experiences? I would gladly hear them out. Thanks for all your replies. This means a lot to me. Bye!

Hello. My father was also diagnosed with claudication. His doctor recommended low fat diet. I don't know about the details. He went to a nutritionist for detailed diet. He was also prescribed Trental – a drug for peripheral vascularization. Statins – drugs that lower blood fats levels were also prescribed to him. He is waiting for surgery of widening his narrowed arteries. Walking is also recommended. You should talk to your father's doctor about the details.
