My mother had a severe sinus infection. She could not breathe properly and because of that and high temperature, she went to se a doctor, who recommended Sudafed because her nose was full of secretion. My mother does not like to take medications and she is already complaining about this one. Is it possible to become addicted to Sudafed?

Sudafed reduces obstruction and enables easier nose breathing. It constricts the mucus of blood vessels in the nose. This provides easier passage for air. Unfortunately there are some side effects, common and rare (but serious). As for common ones, there are dizziness, headaches, nervousness, sleepiness, stomach problems Allergic reaction could be considered as serious one.
