O.K so my girlfriend is a little over a week late for her period and she has been displaying pretty much all of the symptoms of pregnancy i.e moody, weird cravings (pickles and ice cream), fatigue, sore breasts and tingling nipples, then yesterday she said she thought she started her period, but it was just some clear stuff coming out. then today which is about a week and two days after she was supposed to start she starts with some light bleeding. I know it's coming time where a pregnancy test would be accurate and i will definately get one but I was just wondering if anyone had any insight for me as to if this is normal or what. Thanks

Just being emotionally upset can be enough to delay a period. With this and getting worried about pregnancy.
If once you do the test and possibly find out she is not pregnant then her period will arrive sooner or later.

If she miss's her next period and the pregnancy test is still negative, then I would advise you to go and discuss this with your GP. I am sure it would not mean anything serious, but if nothing else you will need more advice and reassurance. ;-)

well, slhe wasn't emotionally upset she would just get emotional which is totally not in her character even when she's pms, i was just wondering about the other stuff she said she's never seen anything like that before. and we weren't really worried about a baby so that's not a cause for concern.

this long after a missed period would certainly be enough time now to be able to have an accurate result from a HPT. clearblue early response are usually the best, stress can delay a period. thinking too much about possible pregnancy can make people beleive they are having symptoms or will even induce pseudo-symptomatic effects in the body.

i.e if she is worrying so much about feeling tired, she will begin to feel tired. the mind can play some horrible tricks on you!

so just take a test and see how it turns out. if you arent satisfied with results wait a few days and test again
