Lots of great info here, except that Fentanyl is te strongest FDA approved pain killer. Dilaudid is stronger than morphine (yet a derivative of) and Fentanyl is stronger than Dilaudid. Just an FYI. :)

Haha! Do you feel like putting your foot in your mouth by now? :-)

You "hate to break it" to anyone? Oxycontin is NOT the same drug as Oxycodone? LOL

I love the quote about inaccurate info, and the "do your research b4 you post" too. You're SOO frustrated with people too. Oh my God.

You must have never even done a web search on Oxy before. Wow.

Actually Wildnil AKA Carfentanil is BY FAR the "strongest" opiate approved by the FDA. Fentanyl is about 100x's more potent than morphine. Carfentanil is 10,000x's more potent than morphine. Yes. Carfentanil WAS approved by the FDA in 1988. Its been almost 25 years, so I figured everyone would've heard about it or researched it by now.

not asure where you get your info. Oxycontin is a brand name. It's active ingredient is oxycodone, just like percocet. The only differance is that OxyContin is available in much higher dosages.

this isnt ameture hour with me because ive taken everything out there including street drugs (heroin 15 years ago for 7 years ) im 52 and have been taking oxcy and hydras , oxcys are stronger period.the reason i know that isnt from any doctor but from the people with the real knwledge , the users 99 out of 100 will take the oxcycodones and the one  will eventually come arround.in my case im still taking oxcy 10/325 percs 4 per day and 2 or 3 7.5 /750 es vicodin plus a couple norcos a couple xanax 2mg bars everyday of the week for 4 years now . it all started from a back injury.i also have tramadol and klonopins for good measure and its all but ruined my life, i want to get off all this stuff but its next to impossible.kicking heroin almost did me in in jail and i think this will be much worse. one more thing oxcys are class 2 hydras or vicodins are class 3 drugs. my advise just find a way to deal with the pain without entering the world of opiates because they will destroy you the second you stray from your doctors orders and once you do that good luck. now any one have any ideas on how to get off all this sh*t im on with out rehab?

Because of your age and the amount of various drugs you are taking, I think you definitely should be in a controlled place so they can wartch over you, your reactions to some drugs, etc. That's what I had to do tp get the drugs out of me. Plus I had a morphine pump at the same time. I did make it and I have many people to thank for that. Including the doctors, nurses & people from a 12 step program. I do , of course still have to take medication orally as directed, but it can be done! Sharonjean62

Be aware though with Tramadol it will hurt your appetite dramatically. For smaller framed people it is wise to take after you eat a good meal. Larger framed people doesn't matter. IT will help to lose weight.
Read up on it for more info. I was on Tramadol for quite a while for shoulder pain.

So which is better? The O.C. 40 or the 4 Percocet 10/325? From a recreational drug users stand point...

Guest
you wrote on your first post...
you take fewer oxycodones to get the same effect as more Vicodin(Hydrocodone)

and on the next post you wrote....
To make sure there's no confusion here OPANA is oxymorphone which is two times stronger per miligram than Oxycodone

and then wrote....

1mg Hydrocodone is equal to .5 miligrams of oxycodone
1mg of Oxymorphone is equal to .5 miligrams of Oxycodone

which means....
1mg of Hydrocodone = 1 mg of Oxymorphone ????????

Guest please don't write anymore info on this website. Clearly you don't know what your talking about.

this guy is hit it right on the nose. in the past 10 years there has been a rise in young people becoming addicted to heroin, because they started to use oxycodone recreationally and became too expensive, so they switch to heroin because it has the same exact effect but at a cheaper price. now I love hydrocodone ,it gives me that oh so good feeling , but i would have to pass on the oxy. dont wanna end up a junkie , i've seen this happen first hand and its not to pretty.

Ultram aka Tramadol is a non narcotic and has No benefits whatsoever to ease pain! I was prescribed that pitiful medication and took it faithfully for a year and a half. It never relieved my pain and my pain got worse. But besides that, it caused severe rapid weight gain. Luckily I am one that recognized this before my weight gain got way out of hand. Medications like this and Neurontin and even other medications that are used to treat depression and psychotic problems that people sometimes suffer with, most of them will cause severe rapid weight gain and/ or a very increased desire to eat. But doctors and pharmacists will Not tell you this unless you ask. And then if you ask them they are required by law to tell you this. Pretty pathetic huh? Sure there are many many people that have died over the years due to overdosing on their pain medications. And people and organizations are so misguided with this. They had rather place all the blame on some little off-white pill that, if used correctly and in a mature way, is supposed to be Medication, not a so-called silent killer; anyway, rather than place the blame on the person that actually chose to be negligent with their meds, and chose to abuse them and die from it, it is easier for people in denial to blame a little pill. They'd rather do that than for the world to know the truth;: that their loved one was the one responsible for their own death. These immature, negligent people always seem to ruin it for those of us who take our medication exactly as prescribed, and actually benefit from it. Most of us take pain medication because we Have to. We hurt, and if we can get medication that reduces or takes away that hurt, then what's wrong with that? We sure don't take pain medication to get high on, and we don't take it because we want to!! So instead of blaming a pill and labeling all of us who Have to take this medication to help ease our pain, instead of doing that and blaming a pill for loss of your loved one, why not place that blame where it actually belongs, which is on the loved one that made that bad choice? And please don't sit there and think that I don't know what I am talking about because I surely do. You see, I had a baby brother that decided to abuse his pain meds, and in 2012, my brother Justin died of an overdose. he was just 36 years old. And it would be easier for me to place blame on the pain medications he was taking, or on the doctors that gave it to him. To me, that would be a clear example of me being in total denial. And I loved my brother dearly. And I loved him too much to insult his memory by being in denial. Justin made a bad choice and sadly he died from it. But I do not blame anyone but him. Anyway, that about wraps up what I have to say. Now I am sure I will get off to myself now and shed some tears over my brother. Despite what I have said here, I did love him very, very much. And I would give all that I own and then some, if I just had him back!
