My Dad had problems for a long time with blood hypertension. I always complained to him about the way he lives (eats) and that medicaments he is taking will not have that much effect unless he start reducing the meals. Yes, it would help with softening the stool. It is used for patients after the rectal operations and with people with heart problems. By preventing the muscle tension, the blood pressure is dropping. As for the stool it gets softer by mixing fat with water. My guess is that the product you have mentioned is a good softener, everyone I know uses it!
