Hello Ane,

You should have a USG or an urography done if you already haven't.  Generally these types of cysts  are not a problem so you don't need to worry about it.  You want to make sure you don't get a urinary tract infection with this.  You want to take in a lot of water something like 3 liters each day.  The reason for this is to try and prevent a urinary tract infection.  I believe these cysts are fairly common.  Your doctor will let you know whether or not to use medications to get rid of any cysts.  Nephrectomy seems a bit harsh.  Hopefully you are not in any pain and don't have blood in your urine.  You should be alright for the moment.

Hello, ane123... from what I know, there is no medication that can dissolve a renal angiomyoplima.  However, a procedure called embolisation can be used by inserting a catheter into the blood vessels that lead to the tumor; the larger one would be easier to take care of this way then little one.  Ethanol or other types of particles are injected to block the blood flow to the tumor, killing the tumor off.  This is something you can talk to the doctor about if it is a procedure that would be applicable to the patient you speak of.  Good luck!

Has anyone else ever had a emolisation done on a tumor?
