I have alopecia areata, complete hair loss on several areas on my head. I have bald spots, very exposed and bad looking. I know that it can spread on entire scalp, but it is limited on these areas and hasn’t been changed. I have never treated it. Is there hope for alopecia areata sufferers? Can it be treated?

A friend of mine also has alopecia areata. He has several small areas on his head that are affected. As I know, it can be treated with immunomodulators, minoxidil or phototherapy. It can not be guaranteed that results would be irreversible. Corticosteroids are also used, intradermal, topical or oral.
