I had a bladder infection a few months ago, which caused itching and pain while and especially when I finished urinating, constant need to urinate and there was blood in my urine (looked like I was on my period). So I went to the doctor and she gave me Primotren antibiotics.
This week I was on vacation at the seaside and I started to feel that itchy feeling again, and immediately drank I'd say 3/4liter of fresh lemon water. I continued to drink lemon water throughout the day and felt better. One night (I was drinking alcohol) felt the itching again, but now more intense. a few pee trips later (about 5mins apart, maybe even less) I noticed my urine had a redness to it. Not dark, just red (blood I guess). After two minutes I had to 'go' again and saw even more blood in the urine, and there was stabbing-like pain in what seemed to be my bladder. The same kind of pain as it was a couple months ago. Because it was the middle of the night, in a foreign country, I drank 1liter of lemon water, put a hot towel over my bladder area and ate two 'Nalgesin s' for the pain to help me sleep. In the morning there was minimal blood left in my urine (I didn't have to pee for the entire 5h of sleep), no sign of the stabbing pain anywhere, only the itch was still present. I re-heated my towel and went back to bed, waking up I went to the bathroom again, and guess what.. no sign of blood, only clean, light urine. No need to go to the bathroom every couple seconds, almost no itch whatsoever. Relieved I didn't go to the doctor afterwards, but there's this itchy feeling I get now, when I don't drink enough.. If I start feeling an itch in my bladder, or after I go to the bathroom, I drink a glass or two of water and it goes away. Why do you think that is?
