I have had itchy breasts for about 2 months now. I went to my doctor and he doesn't recognize it as anything he has seen before. He gave me a fungal cream to try but it didn't help, he then tried an antibiotic cream and that didn't help. He is trying a steroid cream and if that doesn't help will send me to a dermatologist. I have red patches of dry looking skin with one particular weird looking dry patch on each breast in the same place on both. The patch is dry looking and kinda brownish in color it just won't go away. I have not changed any detergents, soaps, lotions. I tried several body lotions before going to the doctor and I am now getting concerned where it just won't go away. Any idea what this might be?

Hi: I am pretty sure that sounds like Lichen Planus or something similar to it! It can be found usually on legs and arms, but can spread to other areas. Going to the dermatologist is the best thing. There is a cream - can't remember for the life of me - that helps with it. Another great thing for the itch is the really cheap Calamine Lotion, if you live near a LUSH store, they have this fantastic soap which is totally filled with Calamine Lotion and Chamomile. I used it on my children when they had Chicken Pocks!! Its awesom, also using warm water with baking soda in it and dabbing on the breasts is a great ant itch, also white vinegar in warm water. And of course the old addage, oatmeal in a bag! Let it soak then put them on your breasts, it is a gift from the gods let me tell you! Use a cotten or muslin bag and run it under the bath tap too and just soak in the milky water. Don't dry it off you breasts, just let it dry naturally. ALSO sitting topless in a sunny window - without neighbors!!!! ;-) Really helps with the healing process too. Good luck and health
