Around freshman year of high school I developed some sort of redness on my skin (kinda starting at the corners of my mouth and curving down to my chin with a clear area directly below my bottom lip). It's just red, doesn't really itch or anything (maybe some very very very slight passable burning), and only flakes when I don't use lotion. I attributed it to acne and believed that eventually it would go away.
I'm now a freshman in college and I still have the redness. It has been gone maybe a grand total of two times, both of which seemed random. Currently I am using Benzac foaming facial cleanser and lubriderm men's lotion. I also just started recently using 1% hydrocortisone cream. Before that I tried a couple different oils as lotions, so I doubt it's because of some allergy.
My twin brother also has the condition and I'm pretty sure he doesn't put anything on his face. He probably just uses whatever body wash available for his face too.
I'm lost for what it could possibly be, but I do know I'd definitely prefer it gone. I know seeing a dermatologist would be the best idea, but I thought I'd at least try here first.
