i just posted a new thread but i seem to have the same thing. Did you guys find that the bumps were white? very small though, and hair grows from them? i have lots of these and the ictching is pretty bad. i found its sorta a mix of a rash from itching and these little bumps everywhere. ive had them for a year now its starting to get to me.

I seem to suffer from the same as others have described - small bumps - often seems a hair gowing out of it - some dont, some white, some not...and some areas, simply more of a generalized redness, slightly raised, irregular shape. Worst area seems concentrated on the (this sounds weird...sorry) "seam" on the scrotum...where the skin seems to come together in the middle if that makes any sense! Seems confined to scrotum only, though some itching towards the rectum, some up on base of penis.
this has been going on for over a year - initially it would come and go, but for the last oh, 8 months or more, been present about all the time. Crazy itchy at at times. Using stuff like gold Bond type powder seems to relieve the itch. Use of various over the counter jock itch ointments dont seem to help much, if at all. currently trying Lotrimin Ultra - does not seem to do much.
STD not likely - 44 year old - 26 years only one partner - my wife.
Any ideas what this is? Seems i cant manage to get to a doc...and if I do, sure would be embarrassed to ask about it! Cures? Is something like this contagious? My wife is getting worried...

The white bumps are just hair roots. If the skin on your head was loose and excess like it is on your balls, you would see little white bumps their has well.
Has for the itching, in Winter, your nuts burrow inside to stay at the right temperature so that the sperm inside stay warm, in summer they come out so they won't be to hot for the same reason. After a few of these cycles, you won't have the itchy feeling anymore.

I've had the same itchy sensation for about three years. Nothing seems to work. It's not fungal (I blow dry after every shower now) and not STD as best the doc can tell. I use the mildest of soaps in shower and laundry detergent for underwear. About the only real clue is I sometimes wake up at night noticing I'm about 5 degrees (or more) warmer in the scrotum area and am sometimes sweating there at night. Could this be an allergic reaction to something I've eaten or drank? I have a couple glasses of wine at night but I don't think this problem is a sympton of sulfite allergies. My breathing is just fine.

Hey guys, I am also experiencing scrotum itching from time to time. I don't know what caused it. Is this contagious? I'm kinda sexually active and I'm worried if my partner might have some too. Also, I have had a lump near the base of my penis. Can I just use topical creams on it? What medication(s) should I preferably use? Thanks in advance.

I have had this for 2 years or so. It itches like crazy and I finally stumbled on information that fits the exact description. Lack of vitamin B2. Here is the article. Please post your feedback

Yeah, I wouldn't trust an Indian Journal of Medicine that recommends giving an anti-psychotic for a skin rash...

It could be ingrown hairs, although it seems unlikely seeing as how you are eighteen. It is, however, not impossible, considering you said you trim.

Hey Guys,
I actually read this post like 6 months ago trying to look for a cure for the notorious itchy scrotum disease. After years of going through hell, I finally decided to go to a Dermatologist. He said it was just "rubbing" and that I should just use Dove soap and non-scented cream. Unfortunately that didn't' solve my problem and I continued scratching for 6 more months. Finally, I just couldn't stand it anymore and decided to start some intense research. I found out that I had eczema on my scrotum because I looked at medical pictures (Google Image Search) of it and it looked almost identical to what I had. The treatment to this is Hyrodcortozone which I purchased right away.
I'm glad to say I used it for 4 days so far and everything went back to normal. No more thick scally skin and best of all no more itching.
I hope this is useful to you guys.
Best,
A Healthy Scrotum

i've had the same problem and i've already purchased a hydrocortisone cream. the only problem is i've been using it for quite a while now, almost 4 months? everytime i stop using it, the itch comes back in less than a week. the only problem i can think of is that i'm not exactly using it 3 times daily as somedays i am incapable of "cleansing" before i apply as i am out, is that really my problem? i dont want to be using this cream for the rest of my life.

I have had this exact problem described by the person in the quote above. Itchy spots on my scrotum, between my scrotum and leg, and in a line from but butt hole to my scrotum..."taint" as some people call that area.
I'll try the hydrocortisone but any other posts would be great if someone know what this is. Thanks

This is a long post, but I really want to contribute my entire experience because I know exactly what you are going through and I felt relieved when other people had the same symptoms/tried the same medications.
Ok guys here is the answer.
Self Bio
I am currently 24, extremely athletic, no STDs (i've been tested), and live in weather conditions of 80s in summer and 50s in winter.
Symptoms Description
Let me start off by saying this was a chronic itch and not a continuous one.
Itchy Folds Between Thighs and Scrotum
At around 15 to 16, I started getting this itch in the folds between my scrotum and thighs. It wasn't too bad, so I just scratched it and never got it checked.
Itchy Scrotum & Funky Smell
At around 18 it spread to my sack, and at times the itching would get so unbearable that I'd stick my hand in my pants in class when no one was looking and scratch it. It also started to get kinda smelly.
Worsening symptoms: skin in the folds between scrotum & thighs began to chaffe.
Itchy Shaft and White Spots
At around 20, the scratching had spread to my shaft and the other areas got worse. At this point, I started getting worried.
Worsening symptoms: skin on my scrotum began to crack along the scrotum folds. skin also began to scab in one certain spot on my scrotum.
Itchy Anus
At around 22, the scratching had spread to my "taint" and anus. My butt would get unbearably itchy, and I'd constantly be scratching that area as well as all previously affected areas.
Worsening symptoms: skin on my shaft began to form small white spots, and other symptoms remained.
Ineffective Solutions
Lotrimin AF
After it spread to my sack (age 18), I thought it could have been athletic-related, or in other words, jock itch. I tried using Lotrimin over-the-counter cream.
Results: The itching went away for about 2 weeks, then came back in full force. I tried applying it even when it was itchy, but after the first application the itch never went away.
Lotrimin AF Ultra
Soon after using Lotrimin AF I tried using "ultra", thinking the extra strength would make a significant difference.
Results: Same results. Itching went away for 2 weeks, then came back for good.
Doctor's Diagnosis (Ketoconazole Pills)
I went to my doctor because I became increasingly worried each day. I was sort of embarrassed to go, but I put my shame to the side and told myself that my health was more important. She took one brief look (and when I say brief, I mean extremely brief) and told me it was jock itch.
Results: The skin became more resilient and the skin did not peel. However the itching remained. This was also when the white spots began to appear. After a few weeks, I ran out of pills and the itch came back in full force.
Gold Bond Body Powder
When the itching spread to my anus (age 22), I started reading forums (like this one) for advice and read that Gold Bond worked better for jock itch.
Results: Same as the Ketoconazole pills. After a few weeks, the Gold Bond did nothing.
Gold Bond Body Lotion Triple Action Relief
Using the same line of thinking when i used Lotrimin, I tried upping the strength of the Gold Bond.
Results: Same results. I'm convinced by now that "extra-strength" is a marketing gimmick.
SOLUTION
Desonide Cream 0.05%
Since I was about 15 or 16, I also had this recurring itch in the fold between my cheeks and sides of my nose. I had this diagnosed as an allergy-induced form of eczema, and the doctor gave me Desonide Cream 0.05% for this.
Last year (age 23), I did more research in forums and found out that it could be eczema. HOWEVER, I doubted this for the following reason:
Whenever I had sex, the girl would say her crotch became itchy. Eczema, from what I read, was not contagious through skin contact. I figured that I had simply spread jock itch, Jock itch was completely curable, and this was what I told her.
I figured I might as well try this medication down in my nether-region. I had nothing to lose. I tried it and the itching, redness, skin cracking, skin peeling, and spots disappeared within a matter of days.
I have been using this for about a year now and it has held steady. Weak itching comes back every couple of months or so in one spot, but just 1 application of the cream to the itchy area relieves it for several months. I am now convinced it is a chronic form of eczema.
Please just try it, since it doesn't hurt to try. I know the desonide will be a stretch since it's a prescribed medicine, but try suggesting it to your doctor.
If it doesn't work, nothing is lost and I'm sorry to have wasted your time. Just know that you're not the only one with it.

I went to the Dr. because I was going to scratch my balls off. He ran a series of STD tests and everything was negative. He prescribed a cream that was expensive and had steroids in it. It worked great, but I ran out of it, and the itching returned. So I tried over the counter creams and they also worked, but the itching has never gone away. This has been 3 years. I noticed that the itching was related to moisture from sweating and mostly happened when I lay down to go to sleep. A friend recommended a product, OPC-3, antioxidants from natural sources. It has worked and a back ache I’ve been having has let up also.

22 y.o. active and std- here. little lumps are normal, all over scrotum and on underside of penis. they are hair follicles. lumps on glans (head) are NOT normal. if you are circumcised, you'll notice the lumps end where your foreskin ends. ive been having issues with burning and itching on the scrotum too, and after trying a lotion (which made the burning TERRIBLE), i tried mineral oil. problem solved. try some mineral oil (in the pharmacy with the laxatives) before trying any more expensive scabies treatments. i have also found that tighter-fitting and non-cotton/silk underwear make me itch more severely and frequently.
