sounds like puberty. As the hair starts growing it itches, as for the swelling it happens because of the testosterone in body. If you either get a VERY willing girlfriend or take care of business yourself it will take care of the swelling.

I had jock itch on my lower scrotum about 2 years ago for the first time at 28. Was prescribed clotrimazole and betamethasone cream. Worked like a champ!!

It started on left cheek towards my anus and my scrotum area was an innocent bystander. I thought it was an ingrown hair but my testicle swollen and I couldn't sit down or walk normal. I went to the ER and they gave me antibiotics and drained it. Stay in the hospital a few days but much better now.

I've had this reoccurring over the last 10 years, it seems to come and go.
It has been many years since it last appeared.
It has reoccurred just recently.
I just squeeze it, as others suggest, (hurts a bit for the first time) but keep squeezing every few days.
The cyst slowly diminishes in size and goes away all by itself.
The first time it happened, I asked my doctor about it and he referred me to a 'bum specialist'.
I saw the bum specialist and he gave me 2 suppositories and was going to stick a tube up my bum the next day and inflate - to have a look around. (money for the boys)
At this stage I chickened out and cancelled my appointment.
I know it is a bit scary to have this but it is common.

I have had this for years. I too have asked Doctors what it is an mostly they don't know. You have to go to the right Doctor, but even then. I use the same thing. Clotrimazole. It works right away the itching stops. I wonder if you had itching other places too, like hands etc. I sometimes think it is related. Anyway I have had this for years and wonder also if it can cause long term complications?
