My daughter had tonsillectomy two weeks ago and all the process was easier than I thought. I am an extremely nervous person so othe one feeling the pain and having extra gray hair was me. The day of the surgery is awesome, my daughter was perfectly awake and when we got home she wanted to drink and eat soup. I gave her the pain medicine exactly every four hours (3 teaspoon), I even set my alarm clock for every 4 hours so I don't forget the dosis during the sleeping hours. Encouraged her to drink at least the first days of the surgery, because the third, fourth and fifth days are very critical. Medicine was making her nausated because she has been taking the pain medicine non-stop for 4 or 5 days so far, and eating so litle. I was also sleeping with her just in case she needed anything in the middle of the night. Taking temperature at least twice a day to check for any fever (never had any), the eighth day is when I finally went back to sleep on my bed, because she was already talking, and eating better. Thanks God we didn't have any complications, (she is 13 years old but I treated her like a 5 years old just to spoil her) since she has asthma the day before of surgery I took her to her asthma doctor to check her lungs and breathing, and everything was ok. Taking a good shower everyday and wearing nice, crispy and clean clothes and blankets is a plus. A couple of days before surgery we went for a special grocery shopping and got some applesouce, ingredients for home made soups, drinks, sodas caffeine free please, jello, and soft things in general. Please take care of you or your loved one because they need a lot of love and attention during ocassions like this. The most important thing, PRAY TO GOD, He is awesome, just try it and you will see how good He is! Love u! and Take Care.
