hey all... I have been to the doctor today and I really hate the fact that I have to go on some meds.  My blood numbers were bad, so says the doc.  I have to take a medication called Metformin and another med called altocor.  The first one is for my high blood sugar numbers and the second one if for my cholesterol.  I guess those numbers were high too.  I am not one for taking medicationws and having 2 on my list makes me mad.  So what should I do to naturally decrease these numbers so that I can get off of these two meds?  I will do any diet in the world if that will help me.  I heard the side effects of the pills are bad and I don't want to have those either.  Thanks to all!

If you modify your diet and start an exercise program, you will be able to turn things around.  It will take a lot of work on your part and many changes, but you can do it.  First of all, you need to cut back on foods that are high in the glycemic index.  These foods are high in refined carbohydrates, carbs that cause your blood sugars to spike.  You will need to read labels to ensure that you are not getting the wrong type of carbs and check for the cholesterol in what you eat.  Weight loss will be the primary factor in changing your blood lab numbers.  Losing weight will improve insulin sensitivity and there will be an improvement in your cholesterol just from doing that.  I am unsure of how much weight you need to lose but if you even lost 5% of your body weight, your blood values will be improved.  I hope this information helps you out!
