Hi. I am a 51 years old man and my brother had a car accident a week ago. All he broke was a leg, and besides that, he was fine. The other driver too. I thought that it was all he hurt, but after a while, he started urinating blood. He was freaked out and he went to the urologist. I understood that he have hurt his kidney during the accident. They have admitted him and that is all I know. Will he need a surgery?

That differs from the kidney injury to the next. They admitted him because even the mildest of cases of kidney injury must be admitted. Given the fact that generally he had luck regarding the car accident, it is very probable that the kidney injury isn't severe. If that is the case, he will be in the hospital until his urine clears up. He will be watched during that time.
