My five year old kid keeps complaining on knee pains. Should I be wooried about it? I can’t see any swelling or bruises. Maybe I just should keep him in the house for a while. What are other opinions?

It is very common for children to complain of knee pain. Mine did a lot, when he was five. Try first restricting his activities. However, if he is unable to bear weight on the leg, or if his knee is red or swollen, then you should see your doctor for an evaluation. There is a common condition, especially in activities that require running, jumping, or weight lifting called Osgood Schlatters Disease.

Well,
Pain in joint in young children are often caused by injuries, and by some sort of disease or condition. Has he had any injuries in past several weeks? If he is having bruises all the time then this pain is mostly caused by injuries. Also you could try to find some topical creams that contain ibuprofen which might help with the pain. You need to consult your doctor as well because this might be caused by some sort of join disease. Try to make him avoid injuries and see if the pain is lesser after this. I hope that this was helpful in any way. Keep him in the house for a while.
All the best,
Nelie
