Why is laparscopy better than an open surgery?

Loading...

Well, laparscopy is performed through small skin incisions ( o.5-1cm) with the use of camera and specialized instruments. Laparscopy is better than an open surgery cos it decreases patients’ morbidity like post op pain, and long stays in hospitals, it avoids scars, and it enables faster recovery. After the open surgery patient needs to stay 3-5 days in the hospital and the recovery takes 6-8 weeks. On the other hand, laparscopy allows 24-48 hour hospital stay and 2-3 week recovery period.
