I had my pancreas removed in July. The diabetes.is manageable. Must be very careful and count carbs. You'll have to take enzymes that are pretty expensive. You're life depends on that. The drug company's gave me a year supply free. I am 69 and still have not regained my strength. I pray you are doing well by now.

I have had the surgery at JHU. Dr. Cameron. The best. I am living as a diabetic now, doing fine. I take enzymes after I eat. To break down fats. JHopkins has a great group of doctors and their team. I call for quetions, they call me back within 24 hrs. Best of Luck.

In 2015, on a regular check up l was told l had 2.2cm tumor at the head of my pancreat and if l don't get it removed, eventually it would turn to cancer, not knowing a lot about tumors, cancer cells or what to expect, l asked them why can't they take it out, the doctors told me that due to the tumor seize and location, l had to have chemo and radiation therapy thru a port in my right upper chest for the total of 4 1/2 months. After all the therapies, l thought, OK they are going to just removed only the tumor on top of my pancreat due it's 2.2cm seized, because, it hasn't spread to anywhere neither... So, with this in mind when the doctor come in explaining to me the type of procedures that l am going to have, I was shocked and couldn't believe it and didn't want to proceed with the operation, but, my wife was very argumentative with me in front of the doctor for asking him questions pertaining the surgery and ""(he said, he doesn't know why l wouldn't want to go ahead with operation because, l did not sign the authorization paper yet)""even he, the surgeon had to leave the room and come back.. l specifically, instructed the surgeon to "just"only take the tumor out and no large cut, before l signed the paper, and in 02/2016 after the surgery, while in the ICU, l looked at my stomach and saw almost a foot long cut with staples, when l asked the surgeon he said, he just wanted to check and see my liver, heart, kidney and other organs to make sure that they are ok, he did not mentioned that he had removed my pancreat except the tail, and had removed my gallbladder neither, l only come to find out that l don't have a gallbladder recently when l am losing weight, lost of energy and appetite and had to have MRI and SCAN.... Now, l am told that l have three cells in my liver. I just had a biopsy to determined what types of cells are they...I lost almost 35lbs from 170lbs..Can someone share with me if they have had this type of situations, what types of treatments they have had, etc, To have your pancreat removed except the tail, your gallbladder removed and now to be told that you have neither tumor or cell in your liver, is very very very scary..... Hope to hear from anyone. Thanks.

Hi
I had my pancreas spleen and gallbladder removed also part of my intestine. It's been five years, of course I am a diabetic and I don't always have lots of energy. But I'm doing really well. I walk 5k a day , I go to the gym I can eat whatever except for the sugar. I never have stomach pain anymore. I get plenty of rest I drink lots of water and I take a multivitamin each day. I even have an occasional drink. Overall I'm good.

Hello. In August 2015 after going to emergency 3 times and thinking it was a kidney stone one dear doctor discovered a problem. I went on brought various procedures and ended up in hospital where surgeon took out 60% of pancreas, my gallbladder and spleen. I wore a tube from my stomach about 6 weeks with one complication I stay at recovery center. The best thing n the area and still became an nfected. When I finally came home I was having a terrible time. He think they were giving me too many antibiotic tics. I was deathly ill and lost 25 lbs because I could couldn't eat. Problaby got better by Oct but still weak. Upshot I'm fine now but can vomit at times. Worse at first. Have to go to bathroom immediately after I eat but all and all I'm fine

I'm so sorry. I was a competitive natural bodybuilder for 35 yrs. ..never sick. My daughter needed a kidney transplant. I went to donate my kidney and they told me I would die in 2 weeks if I didn't let them operate. They said I had tumors on my pancreas, gallbladder, and liver. I let them operate. I ended up being bedridden for 2 years with no medical. Lost everything. You know what's funny? That was in Oct 08. It is now 2017 and I have been bedridden for the last 2 weeks for the millionth time since then. No doctor can help me, but wants to meet me because they can't believe I'm still alive. Because of me. No doctor is going to believe you, or know how to help you. Only you can manage this! Good luck, and God bless you
