Hi i had same operation. Quality of life will depend on how good ur surgeon is. Dont be at all scared. Ive hads 3 op now and nothingcan come close to the sh*t life you have with pancreatitis. Last op was 8 months ago. Recently startwd getting pains but they related to now liver cancer. Im 30 years old so i have just got a dud bod. Chicken and corn soup is really easy especially if you encounter bowel obstuctions. Rest alot and the less oral pain meds the better as you will block up easily. overall life is pretty good after this massive op. Best of luck, i hope you are doing ok.

Definately excellent chance of life being back to normal(normal for rest of life). How old is ur daughter? It is scary at first but dont let it get too you as stress will make life so much harder. Diabetes, is a bit dawnting but just remember that low gi foods are a must and eg. if i have a sandwich on multigrain with ham beetroot and mayo i would have 3 units on insulin. this b different for everyone but insulin is only the balance for consumed sugar. if any other ques, post them and i will answere if i can.

YES I HAVE HAD THIS SUGERY (SPLEEN, GALLBADDER & PRACREAS REMOVAL) ALSO BACK IN MAY. DOCTOR SAY'S WE CAN LIVE UP TO 10 YRS WITHOUT A PRACREAS BUT GOD SAY SO DIFFRENT. WE SERVE A GOOD GOD..AND ABOUT 10 YRS AFTER MY SUGERY MY BLOOD SUGAR WAS HIGH AND I HAD TO BE RUSH TO THE E.R WHEN THEY REALIZE I WAS AT THAT POINT SLIPPING INTO A DABETIC. GOD IS ABEL TO DO ALL THINGS NOT JUST SOMETHINGS BUT ALL THINGS.. I ALSO CHANGE THE WAY I EAT... SO MY HEALTH IS JUST EXCELLENCT.

I too, have had my pancreas, spleen, appendix, duadinum, 16 lymph nodes, much of my stomach as well as large portions of my small and large intestines. All told, I had 8 operations in a 2 1/2 year period (Nov 2009 to June 2011). I am 6'4" and my weight went from 302 to 150. I cannot gain weight no matter how hard I try. I have to take Creon (enzymes) and I am a Type 1 diabetic. Finally got an insulin pump and I highly recomnend it. I also have gastroparesis and suffer through a lot of nausea as well as constant dumping issues. I finally got off the powerful pain med dilaudid. I was on 4mg pills, 4 times a day. The drug did a great job on the pain but kept me from functioning normally. A pain specialist gives me nerve block injections directly in my back, along with a much milder pain med. He also recommended an accupuncturist, which I finally tried. I went from the world's biggest sceptic to the world's biggest believer...the treatments really help a lot. My biggest complaints are weakness, constant fatigue, nausea, malabsorbtion, dumping/diahhrea and occasional pain. I have not been able to return to work and am beginning to consider looking into collecting Social Security Disability. All that said, I would still do it over again. Life IS worth living. It has been a tremendous help learning others know and understand what I have been through and what I am going through even now. Lord bless you all...

I had renal cell cancer of the pancreas. I had my right kidney removed in 1983, and in 2012 it metastasized to my pancreas. Lost the body and tail of the pancreas and my speen. They were going to take the gallbladder, but decided during surgery to let it remain. It's been four months now, and I'm pretty much back to feeling normal. Have to take calcium, vitamins, and digestive enzymes, but that's it.

learn all about colloidal silver from the internet, then invest in the electrical appliance to make it. Lunasol is a reliable manufacturer in Australia.

Taken daily this should protect you from most infections, whither pathogens or viruses.

I wish you well

15 years ago I had the tail of my pancreas removed along with my spleen. I am not a diabetic nor do I have to take enzymes. My recovery was great. I had incision pain for a few weeks and was very weak. But I healed quickly and now live a COMPLETELY normal life with a completely normal diet. Literally I eat what I want and as much as I want.

My daughter had her pancreass removed on feb 29th at John Hopkins. They left the tail and transplanted islet cells into her liver. Today she is back to work with no pain and can finally eat after about 4 years. She does take enzymes and 5 units daily of insulin but her blood sugar has been good and she may get off the insulin soon. She is doing great
