I am a beginner at long distance running. I am 25 years old. I have good muscle mass, and I am quick. I work on my endurance not only by running but by swimming, bicycling and rowing. So I think I am ready to go to long distance running. But I have no experience with this kind of training. Any tips?

First thing you should know is that you should not over train yourself. First few miles you should always run at a slow pace. To be faster take two or three runs per week at a faster pace. But if you do that all the time it won't help you become a good runner.
