My friend broke her femur and due to doctors lack of wanting to check out her complaint went about 3 months before she got another doctor to do an mri. She is 36 and lives in hutchinson ks and when they found it was broken stuck her in the hospital here and in 2 days sent her to the ku med center in Kansas city ks.. The doctors there told her that her left left thigh and hip was badly infected and after running all kinds of test decided to operate. They removed the part of her femur from the hip to the brake which was half way down to her knee. Due to the fact she is over weight and the bottom part of the bone was week they decided not to put in any kind of replacement. Is there anything she can do for it besides just walk with a cane or crutch the rest of her life
