My bf of almost 2 years is currently on methadone. He has been on it for a little over a year now. He is down to 90mg and going down every week! Problem is, he has no sex drive...none!! We had lots of amazing sex when we first got together and one he started the methadone, it's just gone away, like he doesn't feel like it...ever! He's tried over the counter testosterone meds and turned on pills and they don't help. I read all these different stories about couples going through this and I still don't get it. How can a med make a man not want to be intimate at all with their woman? He doesn't show affection life he used to at all. Didn't kiss me, doesn't massage me, doesn't play with me, hell I can't even get a make out session anymore. HOW MUCH LONGER DO I HAVE TO WAIT? WHEN WILL IT GET BETTER?

The medication effects his brain. That's why he has no interest.
His interest should increase as the dosage drops. It may not be immediate however.
This is a common side effect of methadone.
