Hi All,

I have an answer for you! It's IBS, or IBS related! I have the same deal. The past couple of years I've been from doctor-to-doctor, and recently been diagnosed with IBS. I was freaked out as I do have two kids and was thinking I was having on-going phantom pregnancies because i would be sitting at work and you could actually see the movement across my stomach... so creepy! I had several pregnancy tests done because the movement was SO similar. What a trip to find out IBS has these symptoms.

Please know your case can be a mild case or more extreme, but 99% chance if you're experiancing these symptoms, you have some fomr of IBS or Intestinal issue. Get checked. You'll feel better!:-P

Hi,

the most common cause of "something kicking in the stomach" is abdominal colic (cramping or spasm of the abdominal muscles of the stomach)...

hope that answers your question..

ITS JUST DIGESTION
THE KICKING YOU FEEL IS JUST BUBBLES IN YOUR INTESTINE

MY FEELINGS STOPPED!!! I remember searching this thread a few months ago, but seeing no answers, so I decided that if I discovered anything, I'd come back and share. Had no idea before then that this was such a common issue. I was feeling light to strong movements in my abdomen, anywhere from the bottom of my ribs almost down to the pubic area. Usually I felt them when lying on my back in bed. The feeling was a lot like feeling a baby moving, sometimes even like a foot moving from one side of me to the other, and it could often be felt with a hand laid on my belly. There was no pain associated with these feelings except mild to occasionally strong hunger pains. The feelings continued with some gaps for about 6 months even into the beginning of my current pregnancy. THESE FEELINGS STOPPED within a few days of taking a good, live multi-vitamin. I didn't catch the connection until a few weeks later when I forgot to take them for a couple days in a row, and I felt a few movements again. Now, it seems strange to me that I felt such fast results. I don't know for sure if I had a deficiency in something, or if the whole timing was an amazing fluke, but I thought I'd share. The vitamins that I use I get from

TO ALL: there is no parasite in your body. You are merely feeling a mixture of gas and digestive waste moving around. The bubbles last for a while because the waste shifts around and causes gas to escape from pockets of waste in you digestive tract. It is basically like a fart inside your body.

I came to this forum because I am feeling the same thing....just like a baby kicking (yes I know what it feels like) and I can see the movement as well. Mostly on the right side of my bellybutton. No pain, just strange. I see no definitive answers yet but just want to say to those afraid of being pregnant that if you are pregnant, it would be MONTHS before you could feel the baby kicking. There's no physically possible way an embryo with no arms and legs yet can kick after one missed period!!

I figured this to be the case. It is definitely involuntary. One night it felt like a python was going around my gut.  I recently had a c. dif infection and am on antibiotics for it.  This started before I developed THAT flora.  I had a uterine hysterectomy 12 years ago.  This happens in my left upper abdomen, you can actually see it.  It can happen at regular intervals, more so when I am sitting down and DOES feel like a baby kicking.  I've had tests for so many different health issues including a colonoscopy in my life, I get a sense if it is something serious.  I know it is not gas or air bubbles and peristalsis and involuntary twitching or jerks in my intestine makes perfect sense.  I wonder if all those doctors who say it is nothing, or cannot give a diagnosis have ever read these posts to see just HOW many people have the same thing and are concerned.  That would relieve the anxiety A LOT of people have apparently been feeling-which probably doesn't help the situation.  It is very annoying like twitching eye.  Given the choice, I would rather have the "baby kicking" feeling back again than a twitching eye :)
