I have been fasting for ten days using organic lemons, distilled water and maple sirup (master cleansing aka lemonade diet). No food at all for 10 days means there were no gases produced as there was no food intake and to my disbelief, I was still having same bubbling sensations in my intestines. I think it has a lot to do with lowered stomach acid. Next time you see your doctor ask him/her to do a "Heidelberg test". The test has a long history and proven track record.

The Heidelberg Test is primarily used to detect various stages of hyopchlorhydria (low stomach acid) or achlorhydria (absence of stomach acid) - although it will also detect overacidity. It is important that these conditions are diagnosed as adequate stomach acid is vital for the digestion of protein and also the liberation and absorption of minerals and vitamin B12.

Typical signs of low stomach acidity include: gas, belching, bloating, irritable bowel syndrome, small bowel bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), food allergies/sensitivities, nutritional deficiencies (e.g. iron, zinc, vitamin B12), auto-immune disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, vitaligo, rosacea, and numerous others.

Treatment of low stomach acidity typically involves supplementation with betaine HCl supplements but others such as zinc can also be useful (zinc is required for the body's stomach acid production).

This test requires you to visit a clinic or lab. It is likely to be the most accurate measure of stomach acid production but the most time consuming and expensive. The test was developed at the University of Heidelberg in the city of Heidelberg, Germany. The Heidelberg test involves swallowing a pH monitoring device that transmits information about the level of acidity in your stomach back to a computer that a clinician can review. The pH monitoring device is similar in size to the average nutritional supplement capsule so is easy to swallow and nothing to worry about. The test procedure is as follows:

1. Fast overnight (at least 8 hours)

2. Arrive at the clinic/lab and swallow the pH monitoring capsule

3. A small electrode will be placed on your stomach to pick up signals from the capsule

4. You will be asked to recline on a bed for 30-40 minutes

5. The capsule can be removed by pulling it back out of your mouth using a small string attached to it or you can simply pass it in your next bowel movement.

6. A doctor will print a graph of the capsules pH readings as it sat in your stomach and discuss the result with you.

The Heidelberg-capsule has been used over 30 years (mainly in research) and close to 150 clinical studies have been published.

Ok for all of you suffering from IRRITABLE BOWEL SYNDROME (I call it irritable "BS")
Drink FRESH PEPPERMINT TEA!!!Menthol found in mint leaves is used in commercial preparations to treat IBS. An alternate way to ingest it is by simply making a cup of mint tea. This tea can also alleviate flatulance, colic, indigestion and heartburn.

1 tbsp FRESH peppermint leaves
1 drinking cup boiling water.

Steep the FRESH leaves in hot water for 5 minutes. Drink as needed.

Important advice: If you want to get better get rid of food containing GLUTEN.

What Is Gluten
To put it simply, gluten is a protein found in wheat, barley, and rye. This seemingly harmless protein triggers an immune response in the small intestine of people with gluten intolerance and those with celiac disease. This means the body creates antibodies to fight the gluten, thinking it is a foreign invader. In the process of fighting the gluten, the antibodies also attack the villi of the small intestine, creating all sorts of gastrointestinal and non-gastrointestinal symptoms and discomfort. Actual symptoms vary, and some afflicted with celiac disease suffer no symptoms at all. Some signs of celiac include:

•Gas
•Bloating
•Constipation
•Diarrhea
•Abdominal pain
•Unexplained weight loss
•Anemia
•Distended abdomen
•Bone pain
•Joint pain
•Fatigue
•Vitamin deficiencies
•Mineral deficiencies
•Delayed growth in children
•Failure to thrive in infants
•Tooth abnormalities
•Migraines
It's important to note that the intestines are being damaged even without noticeable symptoms, and that's why it's critical for those with gluten intolerance or celiac disease to avoid all foods on the list of foods containing gluten.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ingredients with Hidden Gluten
The tricky part is recognizing hidden gluten. By law, wheat must be clearly identified on labels. If wheat is listed, you know you can't eat the food. Unfortunately, "wheat free" doesn't equate to "gluten-free" and the law doesn't currently require all forms of gluten to be listed. Since barely, rye, oats, and their derivatives are all natural foods, they can sometimes be listed under fairly innocuous sounding names. That's why everyone with celiac diesease or gluten intolerance, including children, must learn to recognize sources of hidden gluten. Study the ingredient list of all prepared foods and avoid those containing:

•Barley
•Barley grass
•Binders
•Blue Cheese
•Bouillion
•Bran
•Brewers yeast
•Bulgur
•Cereal binding
•Chilton
•Couscous
•Durhum
•Edible starch
•Emulsifiers
•Farina
•"Fillers"
•Hydrolyzed plant protein
•Hydrolyzed vegetable protein
•Kamut
•Kasha
•Malt
•Malt flavoring
•Malt vinegar
•Matzo
•Modified food starch
•Monosodium glutimate (MSG)
•"Natural" flavor
•Rye
•Seitan
•Semolina
•Some spice mixtures
•Soy sauce
•Spelt
•Stabilizer
•Suet
•Teriyaki sauce
•Textured Vegetable Protein (TVP)
•Wheat
•Wheat grass
•Wheat protein

Although the list of forbidden foods is long, there is a growing abundance of specialty gluten-free foods, including breads, bagels, cake mixes, cookies, and muffins..

I am having the same thing. Did anyone figure out what it was? I am getting worried and it's driving me nuts. I have an IUD and I have two children. I haven't had a period since October and it's now May, but every pregnancy test is negative and the doctor told me that is normal with an IUD. I am really flipping out because it feels just like what everyone described, a baby moving!

well i have the same symptoms only that it is in one place, lower left abdomen, plus i did have a large ovarian cyst on my left ovary, and i had it removed along with my left ovary!!! so it can't be the symptoms of an ovarian cyst, atleast for my case here...

Hi I am 24 female I have been having these same symptoms for a little over a year now. I have been to several doctors and they have done blood work, checked to see if I was having a tubal pregnancy, they have done an endoscope on me to check for ulcers, and a colonoscopy to check if it was chrones diease. All of the test have come back normal. I have to get a colonscope done every 6 months to make sure that I do not get chrones diease because thats what they are thinking it might be an early stage and the test havent detected it yet. So I hope that this helps.

I am feeling these symptoms and came across this during a google search to try and find out what it was - I also have an IUD (mirena) - do you think this could be the culprit in a lot of these cases (not the men obviously!!)

Me to. I have marked this page. I had an umbilical hernia repaired about years ago. Since then I have had this sensation on and off. But lately it is constant. My belly is distended and the MRI I just had done said I have a malformation of the stomach muscles. So I am thinking because is not coming together to cover the abdominal wall and acting as a buffer between the abdminal wall and the skin where nerve ending are, I am sencing my bowels actually moving. I hope this is what it is as it is freaking annoying and uncomfortable.

Hi,
I am a 17 year old mother of a 1 year old. Same thing has been happening to me. I did believe I was pregnant again but Ive taken about 5 tests and all came out negative. The ,what feels like baby movement, nausea ,fatigue , and weight gain has been happening for about 3 months. I have yet to go to the doctors. I dnt kno what this is but I do know that I'm not pregnant. My boyfriend constantly tells me I'm pregnant or it's gas but the movement is visible. I can see whatever this is in me kicking and moving. Again , I really do not thinK I am pregnant; all tests have been negative. If anyone knows what this is please email me at ***this post is edited by moderator *** *** private e-mails not allowed **
