I have a lump on the absolute left side, above collar bone, on my neck. It's been there for a decade now. I never noticed it since it was never so apparent and there was never any pain in it. It gradually grew harder and bigger and I felt it last year abnormally bumped out. I went to see the doctor who suggested an immediate surgery. I had a biopsy but the report was not clear. The biopsy was too painful that it numbed my whole left side so the doctor had to stop the biopsy process. I went to a couple of doctors and they all had something different to say. One suggested MRI, the other disapproved it because I'm unmarried and it may have its side effects on my reproductive organs or sth I'm not sure. I have an ultrasound report and I want to know what it is.
This is the report of ultrasound.
A hypo-reflective rounded nodal mass measuring 3.0x1.7cm is noted in the mid cervical region lateral to the carotid sheath. No internal debris or cystic component is noted. On color Doppler minimal internal; flow is noted.
Both lobes of thyroid glands appear normal.
The carotid vessels and jugular vein show normal patency.
Both Parotid gland and sub-mandibular gland show normal appearance.
Conclusion :
Solitary Nodal Mass in the mid left Cervical region(Later to the carotid sheath/Medial to Mid portion of sternmastoid muscle)
Is it anything dangerous? I'm worried because I feel the size of the lump has increased and I have dizzy spells every now and then. I'm too scared of surgery. Is there any way of getting rid of it without going through a surgery?
