About 4 months ago after sex i noticed a lesion on my penis, and went to the doctor asap. I was just getting over a bad case of poison ivey and he said it was poison ivey dermatitis. Gave me some cream to use and it healed and went away in a couple days. I kept using the creme for a little while after when i noticed it coming back. I went to the doctor again and was told to just continue the creme. Then it came back a small mark. Didn't break open or anything it was just there and i kept using the creme. I went back again and was told to stop using the creme and there might be a thinning of the skin due to over use of the creme so i stopped. That was about 2 months ago and the mark is still there. After sex or masturbation i can feel that it's there kinda like it may burn a little after but never breaks open or anything and it's just there. I've seen my doctor many times and can't find out what it is. Anyone have any ideas? And i was checked for all STD's and they were negative.

Sounds like your doctor gave you a corticosteroid cream. While they can work magic in the short-term, they can also cause some problems in the long term. Thinning of the skin is one side-effect of this type of cream. Has the affected area of skin become translucent or simply discolored? Do you have a history of other rashes or skin disorders? If you still have the cream, there should be a label stating the corticosteroid percentage. If you no longer have the cream, can you remember the name of it? How often, and how much cream were you applying?
