How long does it take to be detoxed from methadone at a clinic when you are starting at 55 and tapering by 5 if you want to do it comfortably? I know everyone is different, but I keep reading horror stories regarding withdrawal and I am wondering if this is happening because people are doing it on their own, or professionally.

I am scared what to expect. I withdrew on my own from oxy and lasted about 3 days before taking the closest pill I could snort. I am not one to tolerate withdrawal at all!
